Hey everyone, I just got my thermometer (CDX probe model) and I have some questions. Right now I have it in a cuper of crushed ice and a little water to calibrate it but it won't read between 32-34 in order for me to calibrate it. It gets down to 34.8 at the lowest and it will not allow me to calibrate at that temperature.

Has anyone else had this issue come up, and if so, how did you fix it?

It also says boiling is at 210 degrees roughly. I am at 161 feet elevation according to wikipedia for my town.

Add some salt to the ice water mix, the ice is melting in the water so it will not be at 32°.

You may just have to adjust your temps by 2° when measuring, I had a thermo that was 3° off and managed quite well!

Just my thoughts

I got it down with the salt. Way...way...down. I should have known that trick, but thanks for reminding me about it; worked like a charm.

I have my cold side perfect and my upper end still around 210.
