Alright so I had a random question pop into my head and I can't find the answer anywhere.
When you drink an aged beer and it says something like 2011 barrel aged stout. What is 2011? Is it the year it was brewed or the year it finished aging and was ready to be sold? I assume that it is the year it was brewed. but wanted to check. I've got a Belgian Strong a little over 6 months old and I'm not sure if I Should call it my 2012 or 2013 batch. I think 2012 is correct, but I wanted to see what everyone else thought.
