I have to ask. What the **** is an FIB. I'm hoping the answer to this question alone is enough that I don't have to ask in turn why you guys seem to hate them so goddamned much. lol

When I head north on 94 – weaving lanes & doing 20-over in my SUV with "Land of Lincoln" plates and a Bears sticker in the back window – to visit friends in Milwaukee, and I stop at the Kenosha Woodmans to plunder the New Glarus section on my way home, then I am a FIB.

Speaking of which, we haven't been up to see our friends up there in a while. I believe a trip is in order...hide yo kids, hide you wife, this FIB's about to wreak havoc on your highways & byways!

Thanks for the explanation. You're not FIBbing to me, are you?

Heading to the Dells Wednesday. Any places I should check out other than Liquor Central and Showboat Saloon when I'm there?

BAhahaha. I've spent a few very intoxicated nights there. From what I recall fun was had by all except my wallet.
Except the take-a-number ticket system they use for private lap dances on busy nights feels like a cross between an assembly line and a deli counter.

At least that's what I was told by a guy I know who's been there. Ahem.

Were they pouring bottles or a keg and how was it?
Any other details on the upcoming release?
Poured from bottles at 2 events in MKE this weekend. Last night Dan and Deb showed their new short film "Tale of the Spotted Cow". That's where this picture was taken. Then today it was also at Crafts and Drafts. It's Milwaukee Beer Week so we have lots of events going on.

I tried to get any info about the release out of them but they were tight lipped about it as usual. My guess would be Madison Beer Week release but that's just a guess.

They did a Q & A after the film and did confirm that there is a fruited wild ale for GTMW.

How was it? Lol. I am the wrong person to ask. My 3 least favorite styles are sours, IPA's and rauch beers. So this one hits 2 out of 3. The wife had it and loved it though. She had it again twice today at C&D.

I guess I should've spent the weekend in MKE instead of almost getting skunked up on the Wolf ;)
I completely forgot it's MBW.
This sounds right up my alley though. Hopefully I can make the trek one of the release days.

2015 R and D announcement!

In order to allow as many people as possible to enjoy Dan's Limited Release brews we will change things up a bit. This year we will have four release events. Each event features a different beer from the Wild Fruit Cave. The first is the Wild Bitter!

Wild Bitter will release on Thursday May 7, Friday May 8 and Saturday May 9. Two bottle per person limit. 10.00 a bottle includes tax and cash is appreciated but not necessary. Sales will begin no later than 10:00 AM.

The remaining R and D beer styles will remain our secret for now but the release dates are..
June 11,12, 13 (Thurs, Fri, Sat)
Aug 6, 7, 8 (Thurs, Fri, Sat)
October 8,9,10 (Thur, Fri, Sat)

Each release will be one single R and D beer. If you want all four of the 2015 R and D beers you will need to attend all four releases. .

Some other New Glarus rumors floating about:
  • Berliner Weiss is the next Thumbprint
  • Yokel is the next seasonal
  • No Dancing Man Wheat this year (which I infer to mean that Black Wheat, Laughing Fox, or some other wheat is coming later this year)
