anyone go to the Fermentaria last night? that bottle list looked cray

I went with my gf and her brother. Had a good time. We split a para 2 and 5 along with a guillemot prunus. Went with the para 5 last because the fruited emptiness were gone. apparently there were only 2 bottles of para 1 that were sold out before 8 when they were supposed to be sold. I am assuming to a VIP or friend of sorts.

Well those cans came quick...
Anyone know how much this initial batch yielded? I would have been able to make a lunch run if they started selling at noon, but no way I'll be able to head over after work. I'm hoping some lasts until tomorrow. Also, I assume one can purchase less than an entire case. I hope that's true at least.

i havent had nor desired anything from Tired Hands in quite a long time. After seeing those cans though...im now strangely ISO a 4-pack of each to intihar out a flower vase

140 cases of HopHands (Alien Church yield not known yet). Limit 1 case of each. $14 per four-pack of HH, and $16 per four-pack of Alien.

I don't think that was the total amount. 115 cases of alien church is only about 12-14bbls depending on volume loss during canning and trub/hop matter loss in the tank. Their fermenters are 40. I think there may be more on the way soon. Unless they don't have the 2 dedicated tanks up and running and this canning was part of a batch that also was kegged. Im happy for them but I doubt I will ever wait 3 hours for cans of a beer I can just walk in and get growlers of with almost no wait. Great for the people who love to trade though.

it sounds like 4 was close to as late as you could be, so 1.5 hours?

They just got a concrete fermenter. I've seen them in wineries, but any other brewery using them?

I dont understand why this is becoming a thing. I had HOTD's Adam from the stone and it was a perfect case of taking a great beer and completely ruining it.

If you want to understand the character that these vessels impart in beer, just put some dirty pocket change in your mouth while drinking your beer.

I've read that Cantillon is using some clay vases to ferment and age some of their beers. Maybe that's where this is coming from.

Yeah but there is a difference between clay and concrete. Birra del Borgo's Etrusca was fermented in a terracotta amphora. So earthenware has been used but concrete is a different animal. We just have to see how invested in it jean is regardless of the product it creates.

Does this brewery still interest anyone? Or are they dumb now?
Nope. Dumb. No one cares, not even the hundreds of people who line up to buy the cases of cans that sell out every week, or the people who have literally made it impossible to get a table before 9pm on the weekend.

Home is still where my heart is...

For anybody who may care:

Hello Believers Club!

We just wanted to take a minute to give you an update on your THBCBC bottles. The beer is currently bottle conditioning, which means we could be a month or more from it's availability. This was a one-off that we brewed just for YOU. It will never be brewed again and will not be made available to anyone except THBCBC members. Dudley got a chance to try it before bottle conditioning and he said it's the best beer he's ever tasted.

There have been some questions about can reservations for THBCBC members. We don't plan on setting up a reservation system for cans. Sorry, but we just don't have the space in our cold box to hold cans. That's the truth. The idea was that we want to fill the cans with the freshest beer possible and sell them that day. We plan on canning weekly, so come down to the Fermentaria and hang out!

We are going to be having a blowout anniversary party for the 1 year birthday of the Fermentaria on Sunday April 24th. We will be tapping a TON of one-off kegs and have some fun surprises in store for everyone. Put it on your calendar!

Please feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any questions or concerns you might have.
Many thanks for believing in our continued pursuit of Strange and Beautiful beers!

x-post from the saison thread

The rustic pentagram...so it is supposed to be a "Sour Mango Saison" It tasted like sour vinegar dill pickles. Reminded me of Zapp's Cajun Dill Pickle Chips (ps zapps makes some of the best chips). As it warmed and opened up I got a hint of the fruit but it had a really under-ripe taste to it. Had a classic tired hands saison taste meets vinegar pickle chips.
