Good catch. ****. Looks like I'm not going to make it then.

Still up for a IP swap next week- Casey for TH anyone? Can also do Schramms if you let me know what you want by... 1:30pm or so today.

Going to back away slowly and abort my failed thread hijack. TGIF everyone!

I had a dream last night that I went to Tired Hands expecting a beer release, but when I got there I found out it was a sandwich-only release. I don't remember what it was, but one of the sandwiches was limit 4/pp and I maxed out. Srs.
TB/TH reuben pannini w/ spicy mustard FTW!

So apparently someone who works for them has been threatening to put people on a do not sell list or a "banned" list for selling bottles in a local fb group. Do I smell another Al from Pizza Boy debacle?

What debacle? I guess I just don't care that they want to stop selling bottles to someone who is illegally reselling them in such an obvious manner.

I agree. But out of curiosity (not trying to be a dick), is any method or reselling beer, all of which is illegal I suppose, any less obvious than another? Pretty much all sales get done online...and since they're visible to large numbers of folks, it's all pretty obvious.

Local facebook group just seems way more obvious than one of the many random sites to sell beer online. More disruptive too since you are basically rubbing it in a local's face at that point. But, really, that isn't really my main point and isn't a big deal in the scheme of things.

edit: Also, you use your real name on facebook while you can hide behind a pseudonym elsewhere.

I don't think they care about the legality of it why would they... Maybe they are pissed because they cannot control the quality of the product and that people are profiting off it. Taking the law aspect out, it is really no different than buying an iPhone on release day and selling it on ebay for profit, apple doesn't ban them. For some reason beer people are just bitter about this.

Edit... Maybe it is because of the amount available to the consumer? There generally are enough iPhones to go around so people don't get upset.

I mean, I guess, but it's completely illegal to resell liquor while reselling an iphone is perfectly legal. Also, plenty of people get upset over limited goods getting resold for excessive amounts of money.

lol After the **** show that was just the Kane BPT release...I can't wait to see how exactly what you just said above plays out there.

The guy resold a Para bottle for $40. Yes, it is illegal but it is less than those bottles sell for on MBC and other places. But even that I get why Jean might say dont sell to this guy. However the reason for it being a **** show is it wasnt jean who banned this guy but Jean weed dealer/mushroom forager. The guy acted like a power hungry entitled ****** telling the seller that he screenshotted everything and will be getting him banned blah blah blah. Then he said he could get this guy a sit down with jean claiming throughout that both he and jean are greatly hurt and upset when people resell their beer.

I do agree, It is upsetting when you want to buy something beer or electronics etc.. and can't get there for a release or afford a crazy markup, but this is pretty much what happens in every industry when you have something that someone else wants. People are greedy.

Also not really defending either side on this topic, I just kinda don't understand why they get so upset. Do they not feel their beer is worth that much? Or are they pissed they didn't sell it at that high of a markup? Also it is very similar to the 3 tier system just not as ridiculously marked up and of course legal.

Maybe when I become a sought after successful brewer I will understand :)

I understand them being upset, but they are not going to stop the process from happening. I would assume a good majority of their beer sold is enjoyed by the people that line up for the releases. but for anything in demand, some will be sold.

Delicious. And what's coming today? Just a new batch of alien church or are they putting that canning line to use?

Any Philly TB'ERS plan on going to either location for some beers tomorrow afternoon? In town for the holidays and would love to meet up and share some beers with you guys.
Fermentaria is closed Tuesdays and the brew cafe doesn't open until 4. Just keep that in mind.

Had a work party I couldn't skip :(

Would have liked to try an old Para or Emptiness. Despite all the shares I've been to in the 6 months I've lived here I've only been around for a wild grape Emptiness appearing and made the Para 5 release, both which I enjoyed thoroughly.
