Zilker Third Space is fantastic. One time only release though. If they brewed it regularly it would probably be my 2nd favorite Austin IPA behind Electric Jellyfish.
On tap at brewery? Been out of the country the last 2 weeks and curious to try.

Yeah, Third Space was really good!

If you see it on tap.... Big Bend Transcendence is a surprisingly great NEIPA.

Whichcraft Mueller is tapping a keg tomorrow.... Craft Pride had it on last night.

Was at Austin Beerworks last night... it seems they got their own food truck. We had the pretzels and beer cheese (made with Peacemaker), house made hop pickles, and house made chips (with hop salt). Everything seemed to include one of their beers in the ingredients.

I approve.
A couple of years back (whenever Jester King released Whiskey Rodeo) at Petrol Station they had a food truck that incorporated different JK beers in their whole menu.
There is no way I’ll remember any of the menu but I remember thinking it was cool. I ended up getting a slice of pizza from a different truck cause the line was horrible.

http://www.kxan.com/news/local/aust...eep-the-salt-lick-from-making-wine/1156167548

Article is about The Salt Lick’s struggle to open a winery on-site in Driftwood.

He’s being blocked by the beer distributors (can’t own a winery and a restaurant that serves alcohol [the Salt Lick in Round Rock holds a liquor license]). They won’t budge on any regulatory charges.

I love this legislation that’s on the books somewhere:

“And then there’s the mother of all carve-outs — crafted after Anheuser-Busch bought SeaWorld in San Antonio in 1989 and couldn’t fathom a theme park without beer sales. The Legislature brewed up a narrowly written billallowing retail alcohol sales at any “marine park” in “an enclosed restricted access area of not less than 254 acres nor more than 255 acres in a county with a population of over 950,000.””

Someone inform a craft brewery in Houston they just need to buy 254.5 acres of land and a goldfish to sell 6-packs to-go. I’m 99% sure of this interpretation of the law.

I think they are trying to establish a new set of core beers from their Facebook posts and they don't want the saison to be one of them.

From the website they have two saisons on tap, but there is no mention of their Saison as we knew it. I guess they are going the brewpub in house beers only route. Good on them.

Their not really going to have a "core" set of beers, every time something kicks they replace it with a new beer. The brewer likes Saisons and IPAs so that's what most of their beers are going to be, but they have already made a stout. I've enjoyed everything that they have made so far and their prices are pretty good. Their space is pretty nice and the cheap tasty pizzas make it easy to hang out for awhile. I'm pretty sure they plan on bottling/canning in the future, but they're still pretty young for a mixed culture brewery.

Plus it’s like 2 blocks from Batch Kolaches.

Going up to 903 this weekend for the first time. Has anyone gone up before? How do they feel about bottle sharing? I am thinking of bringing a bottle or two if they allow it.

Anyone else heading up?

We are headed to Austin in a few hours. Beers anyone?

We are headed to JK Friday afternoon as well. Hopefully there isn't some big release to deal with. I just want to drink there and maybe hang with some baby goats.

Thanks again for the recs everyone! My diet this trip has been meat and fried things and I may die. Worth it.

Keep in mind they don't open till 4pm.

I don't think there will be any big releases this weekend as they just released Colour Five last weekend (which they should have plenty of bottles of).

If you have not had 903 BA Birthday Sasquatch and have a chocolate/fudge bomb shaped hole in your life, then you need to track some down.

I had 3 of the BA Sasquatch treatments, the others were good, BA Birthday was nuts.

Bottled?

I've kinda given up on 903 after getting a few really nasty batches. It's been a while. Honestly surprised they're sticking with it in the Austin market as I neeeever see them on on-premises accounts.

They were pouring from the bottle. They still had bottles available at the brewery, but a lot of the BA Sasquatch treatments have been brewery only.

I have a group of guys that I do a Bible/Book study with in the summer. We all split the Membership figuring, why not? I will be reporting back how they are. We got bottles of the following BA treatments to Sasquatch

Bourdeaux barrel
Coffee and Coconut
Maple
Birthday (Double Chocolate and Marshmallow)
Salted Caramel

plus

Ogre (plain stout)
BA Ogre
BA Trojan Horse (BiL)

I wanna try that Marfa Lights too... nom.

The Saint Arnold Collaboration beer is not that good.
Hmm disagree. Needs softer mouthfeel and slightly less bitterness to really hit the NE-IPA thing but with a touch of bitterness I actually found it more drinkable and had no issue taking down two on a weeknight. Nothing to go super crazy about but Im very happy and went back to buy a case for the beach next weekend.

I agree about the Brash sucking thing though. Tired of their ****, its all.... ok but nothing really great and their attitude overall just gives me no reason to give them business.

Like most beers it gets better the more you drink but I’m sensitive to astringency and this beer really has it. Think Endeavour as soon as they started canning it.

Also on a side note I grabbed a can of this on the way out of the house yesterday thinking it was an energy drink.
