Random question, have you tried using St. George Terroir to make a G&T? It’s my favorite gin in the world, but I have to drink it neat because I can’t for the life of me find any tonic water—both cheap and expensive—that plays nicely with it. Botanivore makes sense though (I use Old Harbor for my G&Ts, and it’s basically a more cucumbery version of Botanivore).

I want to love it, but its a bit thin. The coconut, coffee, and barrel flavors are on point though.

Already domed 1 yesterday to determine how much I want to get. It’s decent, but not mindblowing. I think I like Mikkeller’s Træblod better. Going to buy a few more. Today, CBS was released at all Bottlecrafts, Holiday Wine Cellar, San Diego Wine & Beer, & just now at Bine & Vine. Today is definitely the day to go find 1 if you didn’t get any yet.

Edit: Correction, it was at B&V. Damn that was fast! Like 20 min?

If you need more its sitting on a shelf here in North County. SerenityNow CBS was gone in less than an hour at bottlecraft solana, that was fast. But they did have 3f and one last black note so that helped.

3) "More benefits to be added later." C'mon, flesh out your club before you take people's money.

I love Alesmith and will at least consider joining, but asking for that much money without revealing a single beer and promising to add more benefits later misses the mark in my eyes. If you want to do something like that, stick to a word of mouth system like they've been doing. Once you enter the realm of putting your club on public sale, you're competing against everyone else and will be judged as such.

The first 2 breweries I ever went to 8 years ago were Lost Abbey & Alesmith. They remain my favorite 2 SD breweries to this day. This year, both are selling exclusive memberships. I would be sad to not be part of Alesmith’s first membership. It’s pricey, but I trust their program will be worth while (at least to this fan boy).

No kidding, I agree on all points. What's with breweries having memberships but not guaranteeing the members get to pre-purchase all releases? Isn't that most of the ******* point? At least it is for me.

Trying to put emotion aside, and study the details of thr Alesmith club a bit better:

$375 for only 3 of the 5 being barrel aged?? And all 5 of those “exclusive” beers could end up on tap at Alesmith? The fact that they regularly put BA bottles on tap and for sale to go makes it easier to forgo a membership. I can just continue at my leisure visiting Anvil & Stave at a far cheaper cost.

Are they really going to do anything that different from status quo? It’s almost all speedway variants. I’m very bored of that and honestly have been skipping many of the bottle sales (except Velvet & Double) for some time. They need to say more about what beers are being offerred.
