Ok who's the Petco park expert? Even though I've got the corporate box for tomorrow's game I need to know the key locations for the best beers.....

Checked out Newtopia Cyders yesterday...pretty nice spot over on Carroll, east of I-15. Ciders were rather delicious, not overly sweet, except for a strawberry/vanilla one they poured for me. The rest I tried were nice and dry, some had a bit of funk to them.

Relaxing and spacious tasting room, nice outdoor patio. It was a tad warm inside but the cross breeze was there, just a bit weak in the early evening. They do have fans they can always turn on and I was told if necessary they could always turn on the AC.

I guess the place officially opened on April 1st, but was in a soft-opening stage since late January. Started by a couple that where the husband liked beers and the wife preferred wine so cider was the middle ground.

Nice prices, got at least 6 tasters and a full pour (might have been 10 tasters if my buddy put his on my tab), but either way, walked out at $26 on my tab.

Employees are quite knowledgeable about what they are serving, which is good because I know jack-all about ciders. So a bit of information about each of my tasters was a nice touch. It was constantly busy, which I thought was odd, but I guess they are centered around a large gateway in/out of Scripps Ranch and pretty much must be passed by the residents there.

Is anyone going to the Bad Boy release tomorrow that might have 2-3 extra bottles? I usually try to go over lunch, but I got moved to cover another office and I'll be like an hour away tomorrow. I can either do cash/IP trade and meet up this weekend at a place of your choosing (and buy you a beer!)

How are the Cutwater digs at Petco? Saw a pic on IG. Wondering if it has to follow that 1.5oz of spirits thing or since not the distillery they have a real serving license. 3 tiers sure means a hell of a lot more for distilling than brewing.

Did not go to the Mikkeller Anni, but tried a few of the beers tonight that were on tap then. The cab anni beer was good, but tree blood was pure maple, any word on if it will see bourbon barrels? I asked but did not get a response. If anyone from Mikkeller sees this please put that beer into bourbon barrels.....thhhhhannnnkkksssss.

Did they still have that Rapple on cask? It sounds like a really strange beer but it was really good. Somehow all the components of the beer come together well.

I guess I was not paying enough attention to see that on cask. I am guessing its a rapbeerry apple Berliner?

I didn't notice Rapple on the taplist when I was there on Wednesday, so it my be done. Agreed w/ above post on Tree Blood though - I loved that one!

After Société FB post about no green "enhanced beer", I'll pay pal $5 to someone to go, order a Harlot, drop green dye and snap a pic, then post it here. Must show their beer board in the background.

Bruery did a fun thing a few years ago, with green hop extract. They would put a drop or two in Humulus, and it was great.

Except it's Cinco, not St Paddys. WTF, I think I was trolled by Société. Is there some tradition of spiking beers with hot sauce on Cinco I'm unaware of?
