Indeed. But more brewpubs are a good thing in my opinion.
agreed!

that is an interesting area.... not sure if there is a lot of foot traffic(?) there, it may be more of a destination place (unless they're banking on a lot of demand from the immediate residential area). its about 1 mile from 30th St, so may not benefit much from people walking over from that strip. hope there is good parking if most people have to drive in....

Should be nice for Bill, I think he lives in that area.... pretty sure TigerTiger is his "home" bar.....

You need a password to get a ticket, that is only good for a time slot.
It's ******* stupid.
Very stupid, seeing as I have never had to wait to go in they always have time cards of the current time. I do appreciate the motif they are going for with it though, but its wholly unnecessary. I bet sdreaper don't need no password.

It makes me so happy when they send people back to the front desk to get tickets. Read the ******* sign.

Highly agree with this.

It also helps maintain foot traffic and population control in there, especially on weekends and friday nights.

If you haven't been inside of there with 20 other ppl, then quit your bitching, walk your ass the 100ft, get a ticket, and play the game. If you have been inside there with 20 others, then you would understand the need to maintain control.

As for me not needing a password, I actually don't...however when I see the parking lot half full or more I go right to the desk and get a ticket just in case it is packed inside. They haven't ever sent me back to get a ticket when I walk in but if others saw that, complaints would ensue. So why put the staff through that when the desk is maybe 10-15ft from the door you enter through anyways?

Yeah before when the desk was in the other room I would enter through that door, grab my ticket, head to A+S haha.

But, it's even closer now. With the heat starting to pick up they usually open up the door and then the rollup door nearest the restrooms. If anybody parks in front and walks past the entrance to walk through the rollup door, well...umm....k. Otherwise the desk is right ******* there....like...right there /me points

I'd like it if actually pulled off the vibe a bit more. Was much brighter in there than I expected, and when I went kids were playing around and coming and going through the main door constantly. That plus limited seating and it was a thoroughly meh experience.

Indeed. At that point, it's much better to just grab a couple glasses and go sit in the room between A&S and the main room, the one with the TV, I think it's the dugout or something equally silly. Pretty much always quiet in there even when other parts of the brewery are packed (knock on wood since next time I'll probably walk in to that side room and find it packed.

They could always just put the ******* beers on tap and skip this whole nonsense.
I was discussing that with friends this weekend, and I'm torn. On one hand, I miss just going up to the bar and getting BA stuff without any extra effort. On the other hand, splitting it out to Anvil & Stave (and raising the price per ounce of having it on draft) has allowed it to stay on draft longer than it would in the past so I can get it more regularly, albeit with a bit more effort and cost. In a perfect world it would always be on draft at the main bar for low prices...in an imperfect world, I'll take the A&S model. I give zero ***** about the speakeasy nature of it - much rather sit in the main room and watch people react to jukebox choices - but the increased availability of BA stuff on tap is a net win in my book.

I just don't want to jump through a ******* hoop to get a few ounces of a beer. It's stupid. I'm trying to give you money, why would you put a barrier in front of that?

What would make you bitch more though...

2 minutes to jump through hoops and beer a ticket. Or 5-10 waiting through an overly packed, stuffy room while the one beertender is trying to get through the line?

I know how much you love beer lines, hehe.

Also here right now, pilsner so nice on a warm day

I'll just stay at home and drink.
