they need to bottle the Tennessee whiskey BA no adjunct version cause this is a BCBS killer

Liked this one a lot. I was a little concerned about the Orange Zest since I found it to be was very prominent in the BA DT, but I found it to be very, very subtle in this one. Very enjoyable brew, cheers

Unfortunately I'm not making it down tonight. If anyone can share their thoughts it would be a big help. Wizard Blend really has my interest piqued.

Planning on being there, so provided I don't get hit by a bus or something equally day-altering in the next nine hours, I'll post feedback tonight.

Feedback on tonight's beers:
1) Goblin Rock (straight off the brite tank, not scoring) - I'm not going to judge the aromatics/flavor much since it's still green (although it showed a lot of potential), but the mouthfeel was excellent. Probably the softest, most NE-style mouthfeel MT has done. Really looking forward to seeing how this is in cans.
2) Wizard Blend - 4.5 - Blend was roughly equal portions of the components with a barrel of each going in. Jacob said it's not a big batch, but we'll be able to buy at least one additional bottle. Won't reach the public. Strong dark fruits up front, think chocolate covered dark cherries, along with a touch of maple. Moves on to deep dark chocolate and marshmallow before giving way to a bit of rye spice on the finish. Tough to nail down every detail drinking a cold taster over the span of five minutes but it's definitely a great beer and I'm looking forward to spending some time with a full glass. For a broad comparison point, it would be closer to a Firestone Walker anniversary blend than a Bruery Melange type beer, although without the pale/barleywine components, it's obviously more focused on stout characteristics.
3) Amitié Universelle - 3.75/4 - Deceptively drinkable considering its 9% strength. Mild to moderate acidity with strong grape presence. Moderate oak/wine barrel character on the palate with minimal funk or Brett character. Drinks very much like a Rosé wine as Andrew said they were shooting for. Curious to see how it develops with it being a blend of fresh and 1.5 year old beer. Definitely don't go into it expecting something like School of Certain Victory, it's a wine/beer hybrid, not a fruited sour.
4) Symmetric Orchestra - 4.25 - Continuing to develop both more acidity and more Brett complexity, quite glad I have bottles sitting around to pop every few months. With only 3Ls available, I suspect most people don't need guidance on this - you either want to pull the trigger on it or you don't.

Great write up Xul The batch of Goblin rock a while back that they had on draft was solid but I'm probably just going to get a single 4pk. Wizard blend seemed more like a FW beer to me. Probably going to pass on the other two. Thanks!

ATTENTION, CONNOISSEURS OF LEISURE. We’re incredibly psyched to announce the newest expansion in our yearly partying agenda, the 1st annual Carnival of Caffeination. It’ll be a day-long celebration of all things caffeinated and fermented, with 30+ breweries, 8 coffee roasters, and a spectacular array of coffees, coffee-centric beers, and barrel-aged marvels. It’ll be held at the Fortress of Raditude, our new warehouse & event space in Point Loma, and we’ll be announcing more details soon. For now, save the date for Saturday, February 11th, because it’s gonna be one for the books.

I put "Fortress of Raditude" into google maps and came up emtpy. **** I hate their copy haha.

I agree selection and limit of pours was a little disappointing but the pours were at least 8oz pours and I made the mistake of starting with MP! We cut out about 1245ish and just went to the regular tasting room. Overall a great afternoon and well executed by MT.

We were talking about the coin and best we can tell it will work fine as a bottle opener.

Yeah shirt was pretty bad. I gave it to my dad.

centaur gardens and golden pineapple were better than anything pouring at the party itself but that devils teeth was really good too. would've been cool to try one of the bottled sours considering its 5 variations on one base but whatever. it was a fine start, the glass and growlers are really cool.

Yeah, free parties with beer are the worst

That's definitely what I said too. I thought this was the safe place to critique Modern Times without people getting bent out of shape. And I don't know about this "free" party thing. I remember paying them $400 to get into the league and I don't think they would have let me in yesterday if I hadn't paid them.

With none of the staff really checking tickets and only taking our word that we were league members or +1s, I really think you could have walked in had you acted like you belonged there. =P
