Do you like burritos?

  • Yes but I'm anti adjuncts

Xul i know everyone has different palates/preferences, but how would you rank these bottles? seems you liked SO and MPTN the best of the bunch....
TN MP W/ Adjuncts was my favorite and MP in WL Weller was my least favorite. I'd say DT in Four Roses and SymO w/ Passion Fruit and Mango were roughly equal, perhaps with a slight edge to SymO.

If you're looking to buy a minimum of bottles, the Weller is easily the most skippable, the other three would come down to your personal preferences on style. We do get a bottle of the TN MP included as well, so depending how wild you are about their coffee forward beers, you may or may not want to buy more.

It's an expensive beer month... I may just grab a few four packs and move on...

Picked up 3 day old city of the sun, and less than two weeks old blazing world when I got my blam! Blam! Cans. I have yet to open a blam yet but drank a city and blazing with dinner/football tonight and really questioning if these can sales at $19+ are worth it to me.

How much is City of the Sun? If $6.88 or more for a bomber then it is the same or more than Blam per oz.

I have not had either, i just like math

City is 4pk 16oz cans. I forget exactly but think it was in the 12-13 range.

EDIT: I found the CC email and for two 4pk city, and one blazing world 4pk my bill was $36.25 purchased at MT.

I was using these special IPA cans to hold me over until City of the Sun came back. Because then City of the Sun will hold me over until it is time for Booming Rollers.

Then the cycle continues. It's like, finishing Rick and Morty and trying to fill the gap while you wait for Season 3 to start coming out.

Can't wait to see COTS in the wild. MMM MMM love me some of that beer.

Was very pleased to find COTS cans at the Fermentorium this weekend. I think it didnt show up here in Vegas until January. Now eagerly awaiting Mega FI

Yes... but 5 dark sours? Ugh... and I'll prob skip a lot of their sours beers. Wasn't too excited about last years.
I barely can tell the difference between the types of sours when they're fruited. And the fruited ones have all been quite good.

Renew, no question.
Really hoping my buddy from up here gets one of the new slots on offer. Wouldn't mind a fellow traveler for the long pick ups.

I know it’s not sexy amongst new money, but I’d love for them to try more of the unfruited stuff. nanobrew shared a Symmetric Orchestra with me a little while ago and that’s one of my favorite Modem Tones sours I’ve ever had.

Great beer that has been steadily improving as it has time in the bottle. Unfortunately, Jacob has indicated that the adjuncted versions of their beers - be it sour or BA strong ale - drastically outsell the base versions, so they're going to maximize their sales. It's somewhat of a shame, because I also think the barrel character on this years Bourbon Barrel Monsters Park (without adjuncts) was phenomenal and deserves more recognition.

Out for next year. I'm not local, which colors my perspective, but especially with them doubling the club size, there's no real incentive for me to go through the hassle to stay. Even this year, I tried almost everything included off of other peoples' bottles/trades before I was able to pick up mine.

I'm also not convinced they're going to solve the issues that popped up with the beer this year. Two new locations means a lot of $$ and focus are going toward opening those, not shoring up the major QC issues that were seen this year.

I'll second that 5 dark sours out of 10 beers is extremely underwhelming.

It was pointed out that none of the proposed beers, except for 1 league exclusive, has cacao nibs in it for 2017. Perhaps they determined that was the underlying cause of bottles going bad. It would explain them all except for the few reports of regular bba MP.

And 7 Year Rye MP.

Stretching? Doesn't explain the sours exploding... Given other breweries similar troubles, I think it's naive to prescribe it to just an adjunct.

QC issue are a major concern, but their customer service has been top notch! I've been able to return without hassle all my problematic bottles.

That's fine if you're local, but Modern Times is not just a local brand. Their return policy (for things like the K&L 7 year rye, or anything distributed) is terrible.

It is all I got since I am not a chemist to determine the exact cause of the issue. I also have not had a volatile sour bottle yet so my experiences have only been with a few adjunct loaded MP bottles.

Don't think it takes a chemist to realize that not all the reported infections had cocoa nibs in them...
