Quit that **** as of 2015... I'm also ElCat but I only get the regular prepaid allotment. And yes MT is killing my wallet this year with these new cans and suchI'm only in one club (this one) and they are killing my wallet. Not sure how some of you handle RS and other **** too

I dropped RS. My staples from them have been let downs lately and the new "experimental" stuff hasn't sounded appealing to me at all. Plus **** being infected really is a disappointment.I split my RS and don't buy much these days even though the Bruery is probably making their best beer yet.

Is anyone keeping Libertine around?Dropping a few for 2017 but this year I was:
HS (split)
League
Viking
Ambassador of Sour
and Wild Registry
Keeping HS, League, and Ambassador of Sour for 2017. Tried for HillFarmstead and wasn't picked. Considered The Stable and will highly consider 3Sons if they allow proxies.
As for handling it...I play free online video games, we have streaming services instead of cable, no kids only a dog, work pays for gym membership for both of us (mostly..I think I owed like $120 for the year), no mortgage since I rent, and am rather easy to please when it comes to food (mexican food is cheap to buy and easy to make a ton of).
Not I. One and done. Dropping Ambassador of Sour (1/2 membership, we're both dropping though) and likely MT as well - depends on proxy/shipping options. Keeping Sante (duh) and HS.Is anyone keeping Libertine around?
Will be interesting to see how they manage that club. Selfishly, I'd love for them to keep it tiny, but they've definitely been increasing production in a substantial manner.Maybe I will get into SARA this year.....maybe...(odds are no)...but maybe.

This, so this. I really wish more breweries would do something like this, instead of making it a free for all who can click F5 the fastest. Seems Hill Farmstead did it that way as well. While I wish I could get into SARA and HF's clubs, I do appreciate why and how they do it.I like how they do their club. Friends and maybe friends of friends but still mostly locals or someone Adair has met. At least that is how I think it is run. Kinda like the Monkish friends presale list, HPB friends, Alesmith VIP (not the purchased one from the beginning of this year), etc...
Those clubs are neat because they are rewards to the patrons. Always feels good when you are rewarded for something you enjoy doing. Extra perks.
Ya, it's easily the best run club I'm in, which is somewhat amusing to me because it's one of the least formal or even communicative (when's our next allocation? who knows!! what beers will be in it? who knows!!). Basically, Sante has done a really good job of just being reasonable - allocations, proxies, extras, local-friendly releases, growler fills, kids, dogs, outside food, bottle shares, parking, whatever - their policy is almost always what a reasonable person would allow.I like how they do their club. So much fun, its seriously one of my favorite tasting room experiences. It definitely doesn't hurt that the beer is ******* incredible either.I really need to visit again...sitting there chatting with a few locals while getting pours of Cellarman and watching a pet pig knock around his snack toy on the floor and then smelling the bbq being delivered and regretting not ordering any was a lot of fun.

fresh beer, fresh bbq. That's the Sante life! hahaharsh
Preview tasting question for those who have been. How does it usually go? The email says presentation 6-7 then tasting until 8. do you get any of the tasters before 7? Do they only pour the tasters in a certain order? I have a ticket but with the families new addition I am not sure I can make it and if I do I will need to catch the coaster back to north county which leaves at 7:21.
Thanks guys!
Bummer! We''l have to grab a beer a bressi to make up for it.The past couple they've poured all the tasters right at the beginning. I showed up a little before 7 to the last one and actually missed out completely as a result. You should be fine, enjoy the event, I sadly won't be at this one.
I usually get there at roughly 5:30, get checked in, get a wristband. Grab a pint. Once they are done setting up the seats I usually go and claim mine or a couple if buddies are parking. 6pm'ish they start with pouring and talking about it. Since it looks like there aren't that many this time compared to previous tastings it will be quick. Then they say 7-8pm to just hang out with other league members which sometimes happens.
I managed to make the tasting last night as well. Had a nice time as my first one but couldn't drink too much as I had to drive back to north county. I can see why these are nice to do for the league, really cool to hear the stories behind the beer.Took notes on last night's tasting but for obvious reasons, ended up fairly busy getting hammered afterwards. The beers:
Devil's Teeth in Four Roses barrels: They received four Four Roses barrels from K&L and this is a blend of three of those barrels. Barrel character is moderate, quite evident but not huge like BA MP. Almost no alcohol heat, some mild rye notes from the barrels. Massive rich cocoa with supporting marshmallow and vanilla.
Monsters Park in WL Weller barrels: My least favorite of the night, aromatics of rich marshmallow and some dark fruits, fairly restrained barrel character. Thin on the palate, quite dry but lacked the oomph of normal BA MP. Improved as it warmed but never quite got there for me. Still going to buy bottles, so don't take this as a broad indictment of the beer, just not one of the top MP variants.
Monsters Park in TN Whiskey barrels w/ Coffee, Cacao Nibs, and Orange Zest: Kenyan coffee and Ghana nibs. Awesome coffee profile, rivals the BA DT w/ BA Coffee on that front. Nibs are moderate and round out the flavor profile while the orange zest is quite restrained. Pretty much perfect adjunct balance. The barrel character is quite mild (which is fine since I rarely find TN Whiskey barrels to be particularly interesting).
Symmetric Orchestra w/ Passion Fruit and Mango: Two months of bottle conditioning, they repitched Brett after the fruit addition. Great fruit aromatics and flavor, base beer is evolving nicely as the Brett does its thing. Moderate acidity, fruit is really driving the bus on it right now (which isn't a bad thing), but I'm interested to see where it goes in a few months as the Brett continues to develop.
Other assorted notes:
- They're getting a ton of interesting barrels in. Various bourbons, port, Laphroaig, a few other things I didn't quite catch. Lots of interesting things that are somewhat experimental with only a barrel or two but they're also continuing to scale the things that have worked well.
- Fruited dark sours will be the first release for the 2017 League.
- City of the Dead w/ Vanilla on nitro is awesome. If you haven't made your way down to the tasting room to try it, I highly recommend doing so.
Probably just doing one of each. Nov / Dec is tough for beer, good god
Awesome! Excited to try COTD W/ Vanilla tonight at a local tap takeover!Took notes on last night's tasting but for obvious reasons, ended up fairly busy getting hammered afterwards. The beers:
