Ok folks, I am going to make this announcement before the rumors spread like wild fire. In September of this year, Austin Japs joined Steady Habit Brewing Company. He was the lead brewer at Thomas Hooker but seriously, who really knew who he was? Six months later he has been offered the head brewer position a New England Brewing Company! Of course he is taking the position. NEBCO, In my opinion, is the best brewery in the state. We want to wish Austin the best of luck and we sincerely hope he finds everything he wants there. With that said, Steady Habit Brewing Company is now in search of a Head Brewer. If you know anyone or if you yourself feel you could fill the big shoes left behind, please send me a message. Austin, thank you so much for all you have done for us. We truly wish you the best of luck. We love you and wish you the best!

 Oh Steady Habit

I was gonna say...head brewer seemed strange. Another interesting development, though.

Yeah, not surprised it isn't the head brewer role. It would've been real weird to have him leap frog Matt and Sebastian. Steady Habit, continuing to excel at rustling jimmies.
Seemed weird that Steady Habit was announcing who the head brewer at NEBCO was going to be.

You might say they have a steady habit of rustling jimmies.

Yeah... Matt and Sebastian are still very much running the brewhouse. Austin and I were hired as brewers in anticipation of growth, with more fermentation space on the way.

That last cask tapping was so poorly handled by Prime 16.

No surprise. I hadn't been to Prime in months and visited last night and everything about it has gone downhill. Beers, food, and service. It remains a good option in NHV, but not the slam dunk go-to spot it once was.

Care to expand? I'm just curious what was the issue.
I went back to Prime after we ate ramen at Mecha on the off chance they tapped the 3rd cask (9:30PM), as they were seemingly supposed to on that day. The bartender behind the bar was clueless as to when and said maybe Wednesday???

They were grossly unprepared for this and their lack of communication on the event pages spoke volumes. That place has slipped downhill pretty bad in the past year or so. Assuming all new management?

Entitlement much?

I'm not going to defend their communication levels, there wasn't much of it, but get over it dude. It's a beer event. If it was important enough for you to try the casks and other special beer, it was important enough to take the day off. If not, you take what you get. There are tons of beer events where you don't find out what's being poured until you're there.

Maybe I'm an outlier feeling this way, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What the world needs now, is primebeer, sweet primebeer

Back to the good old times haha. Unfortunately I'm doing, uh, other beer stuff now :)

So a beer that was advertised for that day wasn't tapped that day and with no idea of when it would be tapped is cool?

Got it.

I get it and agree that communication could have been better, I just find your position to be a bit extreme. NEBCO tap takeover at Prime was awesome and I can't wait til next year, I was fully satisfied.

I'll buy you a beer next time I see ya and we'll mend our difference in position. Cheers
