Work function the other day was that team bike thing around downtown (start and end at Punch Bowl). Had a fun time because colleagues and we packed our own drinks, which was a tonne.
Stopped at someplace known for Moscow mules (meh), then I asked driver about good craft taps and he took us to Rusty Crow. Not a bad spot and had decent taps (DKML, Doom, KBS) and big ol pours of dat kbs too.
And Punch Bowl itself was ok but taps were basic. Food did not wow me either. Game's were fun tho. Great for group outing. I imagine pre and post sports games this place would be hyped.

Midtown beer offerings is a diff story. Far superior. But less to look at.

Finally stopped at Urbanrest in Ferndale. They two Saisons, one Pale Wheat, and two Kombuchas on tap. Thought that was just weird.

The wheat was boring (even for a wheat beer) and the saison was oddly sweet. Good space, so I'll try it again when the beer list is a little more to my liking.

The IPAs and the regular Pale I've had are good. Agreed on the saisons and wheat. They just aren't making enough of the IPAs to last a day or two.

That's because I am not going to tell you what it is. I didn't die on Mead Day and I am a confirmed "ugly Detroit girl." That is all you need to know.
I've never heard the term "ugly Detroit girl." Does it mean standoffish and defensive for no reason?

lol no. I was referring to the charming comments on the previous page regarding the visual qualities of the ladies of Detroit. I just figured our off topic banter had run its course.

If you must know, nickname is still not Trish the Dish (I am still not telling you). I mainly asked if you were my uncle because your request popped up within a few hours of his sharing that article circulating about how popular M-43 is. He has lived outside Pittsburgh for 30 years, but he still reads the Freep and roots for the Lions. He and his wife send me smile cookies from Eat'n'Park. If only they could ship those fried cinnamon apple things. I can't actually help with M-43, though. I mostly just breeze into Ferndale, drink a bunch of mead and leave. Like the grasshoppers in A Bug's Life.

So wait, you're a stripper at one of the airport clubs?

The only thing I wanted to know was that Trish the Dish was incorrect because while it's certainly obnoxious it's also wholly inappropriate in the context of a childhood nickname. Was curious if there was something about the name "Uncle Terry" as photographer Terry Richardson goes by that and has thus sullied it by being an absolute creep.

No to both. My Uncle Terry is awesome.

Saw this at a store today.

Though "great. I love this beer. Can't believe I forgot about it being released".

Turned bottle around.

Goddamnit!

Not sure if I'm completely in the right spot here... But have some family heading to the area (Auburn Hills/Royal Oak) this weekend.

Was wondering if I could get some info on where to get some of that Old Nation Cloudy goodness??? Reliable shops or the brewery?

Holiday Market in Royal Oak had stacks of M-43 today. Might not make it to the weekend though. Meijer usually has some too.

How was the old guy? Still rocking, I bet.
Can't quite hit the high notes these days, but the show was so good I bought a solo ticket to see the current last show of the tour here in Chicago. He is really fun. Plus as a bonus I now have two different Seger "Pine Knob" shirts for my trip.

Currently planning my work trip for Detroit next week. Likely coming in Saturday afternoon to spend some time over at Schramms for the 4th Anniversary shindig. Any chance I'll regret not getting there before 1 for the bottle release or will a 4pm eta likely yield similar availability of take home bottles?

Also, anyone need anything from Charlotte?

Tough to say on timing for bottles. Generally speaking, bottles last at least the first full day, but you never know anymore. Even if you miss bottles, odds are that whatever bottles they have will also be on tap and you'll be able to drink your fill.

They haven't announced a release yet. Sometimes they don't until the day before, but you might be worried about missing a non-release. The pours are sure to be killer this weekend regardless and I am sad to be missing it.
