Just purchased the Grainfather today. Did a lot of research on it and can't wait to test it out. I've got about two weeks before I make it back home though. Any tips, suggestions, others who've used it?

The Grainfather thread is too long and random to be of use to me, a Grainfather owner.

Here is my first suggestion to you. When you assemble the Grainfather you will not be told about the yellow fiberglass band (about 4 inches wide) that sits inside the Grainfather. You, like myself and others, may think this is an integral part of the unit and brew with this damn thing still there. DON'T. It is only put there for shipping to keep the grain bucket from banging around inside.

For some reason they don't want you to know this but take that sucker out and throw it away.

You will love your Grainfather and will probably brew much more beer than you can drink. Your friends will increase in number and your life will improve every day.

Enjoy.

Great advice man!! Knowing me I would have thought the same about the same thing about the band. Also agreed about the Grainfather thread. I went through SOOO many pages and gave up. Glad to be part of the Father Family. I'll be posting brews very soon. I'll be having some equipment up for sell soon as well:mug:
