Yes to growler fills, don't know about kegs. I got a 32 oz. growler filled and think it was $16 and 64 oz. growler would be $32, from what I recall. So far they've said that anything they tap they'll fill growlers with. Yet another reason they're my favorite.

Those commie bastards, now I have to drop $32 there mañana.

finally made it over to Comrade to pick up a growler of Hop Chops tonight. I figured it would be dead with all the neck beards at FR for the PtY release. I was wrong, damn near had a line out the door. Anyhow, Hop Chops is ******* great. I saw that they are going to start selling kegs of it on the 16th but the price listed was $420 for a 5.2 gallon and $1200 for a 15 gallon. That has to be a joke right? Do I get a used Kia with the big keg? Why would it be cheaper by the growler than the keg?

Going to be in Denver/Surrounding areas tomorrow hitting up breweries.
Gotta DD so I'll be all over getting schwasted with the homies. Anyone want to grab a brew/tag along for the free DD?

Only definite spots are The Source, TRVE, Falling Rock, and maybe Dry Dock.
If you see me, I will be the young man sporting the fresh new hair cut probably smelling like our states finest tax-providing product...say hi.

why on earth would you go to Dry Dock over Comrade? And some of the worst decisions of my life have involved hair cuts

I've been to Comrade a few times, my parents live about 30 minutes from it or so. My dad bought one of their first kegs I believe cause he's all aboard the hype train whenever it stops in Denver.

I go to Dry Dock cause I ******* love their beer? Two of the crew really aren't hop heads and much more into funky beers/BA tastyness. Plus, they always compliment my aroma.

TheMitz Let me know, we'll be venturing around. Would love to meet up and grab a brew...
I'm sure JackRabbitSlims (mike) will be drunk as skunk again.

Looks like the hotel for my training is across the street from Station 26. Is there public transportation to get to downtown from there, or am I best off using Uber or a cab?

There will be buses from there. Don't know the schedule or anything like how long they take to get downtown but I see them run regularly in that area.

Let me know when you're in town, I'm less then 2 miles from there. I'll meet for some beers. Also would open some up.

Your hotel might have transportation available.
Denver Uber's aren't terrible but prices can change on the fly for those things.

Anyone have any information regarding when or if Oskar Blues will be producing another batch of Death by Coconut in collaboration with whatever brewery they do it with? And if so...if anyone's willing to do a world class mule of it, or wants to trade for some Tired Hands/Forest & Main stuff from out east...let me know. I'd be forever grateful. Cheers. :)

I hit up Ratio and Beryls this past Saturday.

Ratio -- Reeks of a huge initial investment. Had a great coffee beer, the others were so-so. Excited to see what they can do in the future.

Beryls -- Quite the opposite of a ton of initial money. Pretty limited fermenter space restricts them from rotating beers often, but they have a great barrel aged stout on now. Hopefully they can upgrade their setup soon for more beer turnover.

Due in March. I'll let you know.

In case anyone was thinking of going to Avery to get a growler...you may want to take out a loan first and grease your poop shoot cuz they are going in dry

You know, if this works they have the perfect business model. You pay 1.5 x what the beer cost if they package it in a small format that is more stable, but this way you also get to buy the packaging and then have a bar tender that makes bar tender wages(as opposed to a bottle line worker) fill it for you that you will tip. It is genius if it works. The new place will pay for itself easily.

Holy ****

Not sure why none of you gentlemen haven't told me about the Wake Up Dead on Nitro four packs but it is fantastic. If you don't know, now you know.

balesfc and I went there yesterday, its now $76.

Andy from Avery posted over on BA about their pricing, they're at least looking at/lowering a bunch of the prices:

Hi, folks... It's been a while. Turns out that moving everything from 11 buildings into a single building takes a lot of long days. There's barely time to drink beer.

Obviously we also opened the new restaurant and tap room, which is a whole new adventure. And we are still figuring things out as we go. One of those things is the pricing on growlers, and it looks like we didn't do quite enough research on that one. As of yesterday we altered the prices on growler fills to get them more in line with other breweries. Core beers like IPA and White Rascal go to $12, then it scales up depending on strength, tap room specialties, and so forth.

Also...we are working on getting some 32 oz growlers. I believe it's just a matter of getting a vessel that works with our counter pressure growler filler, which can be a little trickier than filling them with a tube. But it also means that the growler can hang out in your fridge just like bottles and cans, as the filler will keep almost all of the oxygen out of there. But once it's open, you want to finish that sucker.

While growlers aren't really my area, I thought I'd chime in here to let you all know about the change. We had been looking at our prices already as we dial things in, but getting some feedback from BA is very helpful. 'Tis much appreciated. Especially any comment that made me laugh.

Alrighty... time to go fill the first Bolder Weisse barrels in the new facility. Hopefully we'll see you all up there soon. I'll drink with you.

Rock on.

- Andy
