More jealousy

That album was really significant for me. How deep is your hip hop collection? I feel like I’ve only seen the surface??

EDIT: get that ugly plastic off of there
I'm a fan of slicing records open with a razor and leaving the shrink on and placing it in a plastic outer sleeve. I like the hype stickers and it seems to keep them in better shape.

Got this deck back in March but didn't have anywhere to put it in the rental we were at. Finally moved into our new place and set it up tonight.

Only have two albums - both NMH. Went to a local record store hoping to pick something up but selection was slim and everything was priced pretty high. Wanted to support local but I think I'm just going to go w/ getting things off amazon.

Bought this on a whim cause it kept popping up all over, was getting good reviews...in one someone called it a “psych pop version of Pinkerton”...

It sounds like so many things that I can’t think of a single one of them. Too many derivative sounds swirling around. Pixies plus BTS plus random 90s guitar pop plus get up kids? Not bad, I guess.

Also Sunny Day Real Estate.
Also early Elephant Six.
Also not Pinkerton.

I'm "catching up"on the past 8 to 10 years of music. I let it get away from me and decided I wasn't gonna get old.
I’d recommend starting with his debut “Channel Orange”. He’s definitely an R&B artist, but there’s some heavy hip hop influences as well.

Ha! I made a similar decision like 2ish years ago. Stopped listening in about 2008 when I stopped working at that record distributor ...then like 2 years ago realized something really really important was missing. Started looking for online resources to check out new stuff and started frequenting my local shops here and talking to the staff. Just plugged myself right back in.

3 kids each. You gotta make time for stuff like this, right? Like HAVE to.

Indeed. Why the **** do you think I'm awake right now listening to records...

They're old enough now that I can afford to sacrifice a couple extra hours of sleep for the enjoyment/release. Honestly, my therapy.
