Was so excited about the price I got on this and being able to listen to these tracks for the first time in ten(?) years that I almost forgot to post in here...despite my clear obsession with documenting every ******* thing I spin (sorry).

Beer: ‘Murica

Yes, I love Beans. And this is his best **** right here.

1965 thread. Not sure I knew I’d be this excited about that decade. I know I love that music as much as anything I’ve heard in my lifetime, but I find myself contemplating more about the albums in that thread than any of the others in any thread that preceded it.

Like...for example...what is my favorite song from this..(maybe) my favorite album?

I’m Looking Through You...final answer.

No wait....****!

Hands down the most influential band for me in every way. I remember running down anything I could find (which ended up being "Stations of the Crass" first, then "Feeding.." and probably years later "Penis Envy"...) after watching an older local punk get a stick n poke of the logo. Took months to track it down and when I got it the sounds were so 180 degrees from what I thought that ominous swastika-esque logo had promised. Of course I was a kid and it was the early 90s so I had a really narrow idea of heavy. Now, its hard to think of a "heavier" band when taken in a broader sense.

Penis Envy is a really weird record for me. I think its the best Crass Record, although I don't put it in my personal top 3 from them... which I see as some reflection of poor values or user error or something. Like I actually feel guilt about this and have, at weaker points in my life just lied and said it was my favorite one so that I could pretend to be a better person than I am.

One of the great tragedies of (well stocked, big city type) record stores now vs then was how easy it was to go grab a killer Crass record with a massive poster sleeve and enough content to keep you thinking for years to come for under ten bucks.

It's still fantastic, indispensable stuff.
"I want so gently to remove your mask.
It's hard enough to find water here"

Spotted this at my local record store today. Had it in my hand for a few minutes but finally set it back at that price. If anyone wants a GAPIUB let me know.

Sorry I haven't been around in one of my favorite threads in a while. I had some troubles with my U-Turn and they've repaired the table (excellent customer service) and I'm back in business!

Spinning the Ramones after stopping by a local store that was selling it for $80. When the hell did Ramones albums go from $15 to $80?!?!

Also - total top 5 desert island album.

I did the same.
Hate that they check discogs on everything. Even if you find a gem in there, it'll be $$$$.

My coworker has been playing this band for months so I had to snag it. That lead singer

A case of just buying an album because of the cover and the fact that it had an accompanying graphic novel and a poster. The color of the record was a surprise. Turns out it's a husband/wife duo emo band and. Lyrics are pretty lame and high school level but it's not a bad listen.
