The Beer and Vinyl Thread

Easy solution is to post one more beer and record after the beer that took you over the edge. Then your last beer is just another beer and you don't have to worry about it. Sorry I didn't join you in posting last night...I need more beer...and a record player that isn't next to the bedroom...and more records, definitely need to get more records.

How do you feel about the Moonpies for Misfits EP? If that and their songs on the alkaline trio split didn’t propel you to seek out more, then they’re probably not for you.

But, if you must...Fuel for the Hate Game, Forever and Counting and No Division (along with the two 7” that make up the moonpies EP) are their peak IMO. After that they became “influenced” by a lot of the bands they were touring with and while I personally still enjoy a bit of it, they became lost in the sea of at that point. Basically what made them unique, at least to me, ended with No Division (which by the way, has become my personal **** Trump album...ironically written nearly 20 years before he took office) .

So that Moonpies 7" is amazing. I think I did check out Forever and Counting but it has yet to really click for me. I'm always curious about their 7"s, and I always get them confused w Boy Sets Fire for some reason.

Full disclosure: I’m about as new to this as possible, my better half surprised me with the set up and a handful of albums about two months ago, and then she’s been constantly patient with my ****** taste in music since then (granted, we met in college over keystone and blink 182, so it’s not that crazy)

Splain me this. Great ******* tracks no doubt, but El-P and Killer Mike have been at it for ******* soooo long. Why did this collab of AAAAAALL the collabs out there get this much attention?

They somehow became darlings of the festival crowd. Both artists have massive longtime followings, yet neither sect make up the bulk of the RTJ community. I have no idea how they touched the nerve they did, but I’m glad for them. They seem like genuinely good people.

This is exactly what is blowing my mind. But as you say, good for them for sure. It’s great music and I love great music. I guess this is how the machine works - mostly at random.

If that's snoop throwing aroundd the RTJ symbols, enough said. I think maybe I've underestimated so'sh media yet again.

Had to wait for the wife to listen to the Flogging Molly I got her a while back. The Pogues was just a bonus. Beer was Catherine from Four Seasons.
