Any update on the soft opening? Thinking of heading to VT this weekend and would love to visit. Any intel from you guys?

They were saying on Facebook that there won't be any announcement. At some point in early July they'll just all of the sudden be open.

So by my estimation, they've pulled 500 cases from weekly circulation to stock the new brewery. I was hoping that the new space would be self sustaining with Heady. And since they stopped delivering Focal to restaurants a couple of weeks ago, it makes one wonder how old the Focal stash will be once they finally open.

Without any hype, we are proud to announce the opening of our Stowe Brewery and Visitor’s Center this afternoon at 2pm. We are ready to unlock our doors and we are ready to see all of our friends, neighbors and loyal customers. The beer tastes absolutely delicious and we look forward to sharing it with you.

***TODAY (Thursday,June 30), we will be serving samples and selling Focal Banger. We will limit this to 2 four packs per person. This limit is for today only.

$12.50 /four-pack (+tax and deposit)

***Starting TOMORROW (Friday, July 1): our beer selections and limits are as follows:
Up to 1 mixed case per person*, to include:
Focal Banger- 2 four-packs
Heady Topper- 2 four-packs
Crusher- 2 four-packs
$12.50/ 4-pack (+tax & deposit) OR $75/case (+tax & deposit)
*not to exceed 2 four-packs per style

Supposedly a 2 hour wait right now. They have one register going with 3 people working it (according to the other site).

That's how they were doing it on opening day. One to grab beer, one to fold t-shirts/grab glassware, one to ring up. I'm sure they'll figure it out shortly.

It is almost entirely a matter of perspective.

The Alchemist staff likely viewed things this way:

People are making the trip out to Stowe to celebrate the opening of the new brewery. These visitors will likely want a chance to check out the space, chat with the staff, take pictures, try some sample beers, buy merchandise, and walk away with great beer.

They chose to do a quiet opening so people could enjoy the new space and relax while they loaded up on beer for the holiday.

The general beer buying public likely saw it this way:

The Alchemist brewery is finally open. I am really excited to buy their beer. However, I only want to take a 30-second tour of the space (because I am mainly here for beer), I will take my free sample(s), skip the merchandise aisle, and head straight to checkout so I can post an ISO:FT ASAP and flip the cans of beer I just purchased.

The consumers had hoped for more of a smoother, speedier, buy-your-beer-and-go transaction.

It's 2016, beer people are the worst.

Alchemist was ground breaking in 2011, now there are tons doing the same thing at the same quality level.

I'll walk the 500' from my house to Zero Gravity until the hype blows over.

Did you try the new DIPA?

It's pretty good, a bit boozy for me.
I <3 conehead

Foam has had some really nice ipa/dipa since opening

Conehead is probably my most purchased beer of 2016.

Haven't had anything from Foam yet, don't really get up there much and it's not really a destination for me.

If you want a growler sometime shoot me a pm and we'll figure out how to get it to ya.

Does anyone have any clue how many cases the Co Op is going to receive nowadays?

Heady Topper Update – CHANGE IN AVAILABILITY: Starting the week of June 27, The Coop’s allotment of Heady Topper will drop from 160 cases to a total of 60 cases. Due to this reduction, we have changed when Heady Topper is available and the limit per customer.

On Thursday, June 30, all 60 cases of Heady Topper will be released starting at 8 am. The first 20 customers will be able to purchase full cases ($75/case of six 4-packs). The remaining Heady Topper will be sold as three four-packs per customer while supplies last. Heady Topper will not be available at The Coop again until 8 am on Thursday, July 7. The cost is $13.99 for a single 4-pack.

Starting on Thursday, July 7, The Coop will begin selling Heady Topper Thursday through Tuesday. Ten cases will be stocked each morning starting at 8 am, and there will be a limit of one four-pack per customer.

Wonder if the madness of the last two Thursdays caused this change. Interesting...
