The 2016 NHC - Results/Speculation Thread

All my scores are posted now.

I'm kicking myself. my DIPA only scored a 35.5 which is about where I placed it because it was a bit too old. Made Mini-BOS. I know if I would have waited another week or two it would have been perfect. My other beers scored a 41 3rd and a 32.5 (which to me it was the best of the 3)

Are you sure these are correct? Mine shows the exact same letter that was available after 1st round results were released but the date on the letter says today. Results aren't posted until after the banquet

Did you make sure you're in the FINAL url. It changes the URL for me when I login. I have to put the final back in.

They are correct, these scores are different from my first round.

My other two were 36 for blonde ale and 30 for czech dark lager. No indication they made Mini BOS. I thought the czech dark lager would do better than it did. But, the blonde was probably about where I would have put it. Always hope for them to do a bit better. I think this is the 3rd time my Dortmunder has made mini BOS in the finals... just can't break through.

Mine did not do well. It did significantly better in the first round.

Maybe..... Perhaps it will even have its own style at some point

With only 5 entries, I always have trouble getting away from my core group of 8 or so beers I tend to enter the most: Dortmunder, Helles, Scottish 70, Dark lager (of some sort), British bitter, british mild, porter, blonde......

Always leery to use up an entry on IPA/APA as it has historically been a ****-show of entries.

I see now. Looks like my American Pale Ale made mini-BOS but did not place with a score of 40 . Well now I won't waste my time listening to the award ceremony. Man it's a bummer to see a 35 nab 3rd but my 40 not place, that's the mini-BOS format for you though

My mead scored 40 and made mini-bos, but didn't place...

Still a good run for that mead though - mead BOS at a major comp, NHC first round silver, Mazer Cup honorable mention, and NHC final round mini-BOS....can't ask for much more than that...............well, other than where I placed the recipe and brewing notes.

I logged out. Changed browsers, and re-logged into: brewingcompetition.com/final

And it was there....score / Mini-BOS? / place and link to the letter...

Still can't get it to show anything. Either no letter at all and no info, or the useless letter and no info. As in the letter may pop up for a few hours and then gone again.

Well there it is. Same old same old for this style. Crapshoot. Now I'm mad. F***ing gave it a 27. I didn't think I'd place but it deserved better than that.

Yeah I can't login now, but I did just see the live rewards for cat 10 and they seemed to mesh with what was being posted days ago. Places at least.

Well this has been quite the experience. Was my first national competition and the beer that advanced was a beer that was brewed for the first time by me. looking forward to next year's competition already!
