Bummer! One thing to think of too is, the closer your load is to the trolley, the smother it rolls. If you have 8 feet of play between the trolley and your load, it snaps as the trolley tries to catch up the the load.

If you have 8 feet of play between the bag and your overhead pick point, I find that you can swing the bag clear of the kettle and lower in one fell swoop....having the ratchet at the load helps as you can release the load as you move it laterally free of the kettle....a little dicey, and not as good as a track but not a big deal IME.
Helps to have a large receiving bin sitting next to the kettle.
I've done 35 lbs max this way fwiw.

I was lucky enough to acquire a bundle of unistrut that was left by a contractor that bailed out on one of my projects a couple of years ago.
Since I am too cheap to buy a trolley I improvised.
I cut a block of composite deck board to fit inside the strut, this block has a 3/8" eyebolt inserted through it. The block slides along in the strut just fine. Granted I am not using 20+ lbs of grain, but it has handled 15 lbs of wet grain with no problems.
