I'm brewing tomorrow and forgot to get lactose at the HB store. It's quite a drive and I was wondering if I could get the same stuff at regular store or if I could use something else. I read someone used Stevia but I'm also looking for a creamy sweet.
Thoughts?

You can easily add the lactose when you bottle or keg. In fact some prefer to add then vs boil. Which works better is likely like all brewing processes we use....just a matter of personal preference :)

I wouldn't use Stevia...all those artificial sweeteners are kind of gross if you ask me. As porterpounder said, if your grocery store has lactose, it's the same. If they don't, like Toga said, you can add it at packaging time.
