Someone's package is in the mail, non Lorena Bobbitt style. Its ground but I'm hopeful for a Friday delivery.

I have incoming package notification from both Fedex and UPS, I hopefully won't get notified and it will be a surprise!

Well, since 200oz divided by 12oz equals 16.67,I hate to think of the costs involved after being double/triple padded & bagged in a large box. Or maybe rolled in small bubble wrap in a case box with seperators. Then bigger box with more large bubble wrap. I'm curious as to how y'all are shipping these?
Sounds like fun...:tank:

Damn, I had all of mine jammed into a 12"X12"X12" box (12 12oz bottles, 3 bombers and 1 750ml), but after reading everyones posts I moved it to the next smallest box I have and had to use every bit of packaging material I had saved.

Just packed mine (into a 14x11x16 box). Drop at fedex tomorrow.

No idea how you could fit it into a 12x12x12...guess that's why SWMBO packs whenever we take a trip.

Guys, it's my first time and my package came out to 24x18x18 and weights 33.2lbs....Is that normal? I will probably pay $100 for this :/ (there are 8x 22oz + 2x 12oz)

The weight seems right, but seems like a large box, which could be a really good thing if padded right. Half of mine were cans and it came to 21 pounds.

My package was the same size and close to 25 lbs and it was only $28.75.

My box ended up being 15x10x10 and 18-19 lbs. But I also had about 2/3 of them cans so that makes a difference. Cost about $24 to ship halfway across the country.

Yeah, thats gotta be tight. And you moved it to a SMALLER box?

Poorly worded on my part. I put it into a larger box, but the next size up I had was pretty big (22X14X12) and had a ton of dead space to stuff. The cube I had was packed super tight and well padded, but it only cost $6 more and I didn't feel like buying all new beer and shipping twice if it didn't make it. Mine was $36 to ship and weight just over 25lbs.

I got my skills from moving so much. When we moved from NY to AZ I stuffed 7000 lbs of stuff into 2 U Boxes. Not sure if you've seen them, but I was pretty sure they would burst on the trip (you aren't supposed to put more than 2000 lbs in one). All made it great, oh well.

Make sure you do the FedEx home option. I almost puked at the 'express saver' rate. $80 vs $28

My scale was apparently off by a few pounds. Fedex updated the weight to 35.7 pounds at a hub. I shipped it for $38.23 from home so we will see what I actually get charged in a week or so.

Tracking info finally updated. Package was 16x11x9 and 26 lbs. Estimated delivery on Thursday! Hoping the recipient likes my choices......and the bonus can of food I happened to see in one of his random posts that goes good with beer :)

Yup, mine got estimated at $41...but I used my company account so hopefully will be a little cheaper :) Also....my recipient declared that he does not want IPAs which was very sad to me as I had a few extra Pliny on hand :( but well..gotta respect the request.

Company account? Yeah it will be cheaper; free is certainly cheaper than $41!

Mine was 22.8 lbs, in a 16x12x12, and cost $41.93 via UPS.

I'm thinking of sending my recipient some bonus bottles in another package because, I just sort of bought what I would have wanted so my selection isn't very diverse.

I think next time it would be fun to say what kind of beer you DO want in addition to what kind you don't.

I tend to agree with this. Stipulate that you can list one style that you absolutely don't want, then a few you desire the most, with the understanding that the second part is just for info and doesn't lock the buyer to only those styles. I was able to search old posts and sort out what I think will be liked the most for the person I'm buying for this round, but I'm sure that's not the case for everyone. (Especially whoever got stuck buying for this noob with not many posts) Just my two cents. But still excited to get new beers no matter what shows up.
