Due to Summit's decision to discontinue one of my favorite beers, I would like to try to clone. This will be my first brew that is not from a kit. Summit has release the following information to me:
2-row Harrington, Wheat Malt
Tettnang hops
ABV: 4.2%
IBU: 18-23

Since I'm a extract brewer I am going to replace the 2-row and wheat malt with wheat DME Here is what I've put together so far. Feedback will be greatly appreciated.

5 lbs Wheat DME
.75 lb Carapils
.5 oz Tettnanger (60 min)
.5 oz Saaz (15 min)
.5 oz Saaz (2 min)
Yeast - Wyeast 3638 Bavarian Wheat (not sure on this yet)

Thanks!:mug:

I think you should get some 2-row grain and steep it when you do the brew. It's very easy to add steeping to an extract brew and it's well worth it. Since 2-row is the base grain for the Summit, I don't think an all wheat DME will make the same beer.
