Yes, it is a Black IPA/CDA style. I believe it is all pale malt and carafa malt, with Centennials as the hop. So simple, but so delicious.

They use about 5% carafa and 5% crystal (i think 60). Chinook for bittering and 50/50 amarillo / simcoe for everything else. Excellent stuff!
Amazing what they make of that. Cal Ale yeast I assume??
This beer just won a silver at GABF like 10 minutes ago.
Probably their house strain, which I think is similar to wlp001. Man I love that stuff!
Fantastic beer. The fact that Barley Brown's Turmoil CDA took the gold at GABF over this makes me want to drive the seven hours to Baker City just to try it!
I was mistaken here, apparently their house strain is closer to wlp002 (English Ale)
Bronze for the Sublime, Silver for Smoked Porter w/ Chipotle. Giggady.
Ooofff...I tried a sample of that smoked porter at Stone earlier this summer. If that is a silver medal, i shudder to think what was bronze and below. It was one of the few beers i simply could not tolerate and finish the small sample they poured for me.
It was foul! I'd take a BMC over that! It may not taste good, but at least it doesn't taste bad!
SSRA, on the other hand is a great Black IPA.
