tinkering with this Welches grape wine....added acid, added tannins, more acid, more tannin....tried some oak chips...glycren...it all helped a little bit, not much.

I read on here somewhere about boiling water and adding the tannin powder to it...so I did and thought what the heck, go big or stay home. I dumped two heaping spoonfuls in about a cup and half of water and boiled it.

Two things happened...1. the tannin dissolved MUCH easier 2. this wine now has only a hint of sweetness vs the make your teeth hurt sweetness before. This stuff actually tastes pretty decent now!
