So I was handed down a half built keezer with an stc 1000 wired directly to the compressor. I finished the build and have been drinking my first kegged home brew for a month but I've blown out two STC's both on really hot days. The wiring of the STC looks like what I see it should be online with the exception of a small wire that runs from the 1 terminal to the 7th slot. I also poked a small hole in the keezer shelf to run the temp probe directly from the stc through the shelf floor without having to go through the collar etc. My guess is I need to wire it differently or that on really hot days water is making it way down the cord and frying the exposed stc but these are just guesses. I did install two computer fans on the lid facing down that I can turn on when I want them to distribute temp evenly. I also have got a dehumidifier and damp rid to help with the moisture. My third stc controller shows up tomorrow and I will seal the hole that probe comes out. Any other advice? Anyone have this sort of problem where they come out and the stc has turned itself off and then when you turn it on the temps jump all over the place? Thanks in advance.
