Just won the bidding on a Fisher Scientific stirplate - $35 shipped to me. I'm excited to see how this will affect the quality of my beers. Next stop will be some sort of fermentation chamber.

Pitch adaquate healthy yeast and keep fermentation tempertures in check and you'll make great beer.

Man I wish i always took the time to make great starters. When I first started brewing I thought I was soo cool making 400ml and 600ml starters for 1.060 and 1.070 beers. Severely underpitching wont be done by me any longer.
