I used a Vinator bottle rinser to sanitize my bottles before bottling today. My rinsing solution was just under 1/4 ounce of SS with about a quart of water. The bottles dried for a little while on a bottle tree as well.

I realize now the concentration of SS was too high. Should I be worried about toxic beer, or will the SS have rinsed out sufficiently?

Note: cross posted from the bottling forum. Sorry for the mix-up.

It isn't going to hurt you, you can probably tell how much was left in the bottles by tasting one now. If it is sour, there was a lot left in there. If it tastes like it did pripr to bottling, you are probably ok. The one thing that might go awry is the conditioning in your bottle, if the star San concentration was high enough to kill your yeast.

You would need a pretty intense amount of star san in a bottle to kill any yeast.

Remember that star san is safe when it's in the correct dilution, adding in 12oz of beer diluted it dramatically.

Star San is neutralized by the PH of beer. According to Palmer you can use a LOT of Star San with no ill effects.

No worries. The Star san won't impact the beer or the yeast. It would take a super high concentration to impact the beer negatively.

I've used 1oz to a 1/2 gallon with no issues. I've since learned to read the instructions. A large bottle of SS will last a year plus.
