I have a fridge/freezer combo in the brewery. The unit is hooked to my temp controller to run as a fermentation fridge. This leaves the freezer empty as it would only run when the temp controller turns on the cooling function. I was wondering if there is a way to split off the power to the freezer making it run independent of the fridge? It is dead space right now and would be a great place to store hops. Thanks for the help.

No unless each side or top / bottom has its own compressor. They have a fan and baffle to pull air from the freezer side to cool the fridge side.
