Speaking of Brooklyn....

..has anyone here had their EIPA? I plan to make an IPA next (well maybe after another wheat) but until that time, I have been wanting to try some IPA's. My IPA background is much less broad than many other realms of beer 'styles'. I don't like overly bitter beers. Hopcentric is ok, but not curl your eyelash bitter. It says it follows the traditional IPA's from England which sounds like what I want...but I just want to be certain before I grab a case (have never seen it in 6's).

Hehe. A friend said it was hoppy but not overly bitter...hrmm...this is sounding promising.

Anything else to keep my eyes peeled for if I find 6's?

I've had the Brooklyn East India PA. Very 'solid' IPA in my opinion also. The day I had it I was doing a little self tasting of IPAs. I went to one of the bottle shop in State College (I believe it was hooters) and mixed a 6er of IPAs. I believe I had gotten the Sierra Nevada 07 IPA, Redhook IPA, and a few others I cannot particularly recall. Anyway, moral of the story was that I would say the EIPA was one of the top 2, if not the best, of the 6-pack that I drank.

I would say you will probably be satisfied with it. It definitely wasn't "overly hoppy", but very good.

The first time my wife tried Brooklyn's IPA she said it tasted like hair spray... heh. After a few, she came around. It is currently my second favorite IPA... right behind Sweetwater's IPA.

I've had American IPAs I prefer to the Brooklyn IPA (which I believe is in the english style), but its pretty darn good for an English-style IPA.

Grabbed a six last night. Very well done. I felt it had just the right amount of bittering, flavor and hops aroma. Very similar to Wild Goose IPA, although Wild Goose has more caramel come through on the finish. This finishes a bit more clean and bitter, but doesn't make you shudder....which is nice . Thanks for the thumbs up.
