Hello ladies and gents,
I figured I'd start with an introduction of myself as I plan on being on HBT a lot. In my spare time I love baseball, and especially Phillies baseball (sorry Mets fans). And, of course, the one thing that goes great with both of those? BEER.
For my work, I'm a Fermentation Biologist. Yes, a scientist of sorts. Even though my work typically deals with bugs that grow other things for everyday use (cleaners, petroleum products, hair products etc.) I figured it was high time I use my knowledge for my own consumable good. Of course that led me to a bunch of half-edited websites, that very much wanted to sell me plastic buckets and kits. I've always been a man of my own cloth, so I figured I'd piece together my own kit starting with some glass carboys, racking cane, and the like. Now its just time to find that first beer I'd like to brew, something easy but challenging, with a great reward at the end. I look forward to discoursing with all of you in the upcoming weeks!
