I live on the 62th parallel and we have some early flowers popping up and the tulips are getting near. I live very near the russian border, so we have a quite extreme climate, -40 F in winter to mid 80's in summer.

Since I don't mind the cold, I would really like to experience a summer when the temperature never rose above 85°F. I do not function at all well when the temp is mid 90°s or higher with 90% and higher humidity.

This last winter was warm. I can't remember a day that was below -34°F.

We saw lots of daffodils in Lansing this weekend. I don't' think they are quite blooming here at the 40th.

Remember two summers ago, when you were visiting, and we had a big fire in the fireplace all weekend because it was cold? I think it was mid-July? But last summer was warmer, I think. You guys weren't cold last summer, I don't think?

I used to put snowsuits on my kids to watch the fireworks on the Fourth of July in certain years. It was very cold on the shores of Lake Superior some of those holidays, but we'd go there to watch the most awesome fireworks over the lake.

We have a nasty snow/rain mix the last couple days here in Holly. Temps were in the high 30's this morning on my way into work with white stuff falling from the rain clouds. :( I hate this state but in a few more years I will be complaining about how hot it is everyday and how much I can't keep my fermenters cool enough. So I guess its a trade off.

We've had warm weather the past couple weeks, which has caused a lot of things to bud out. Tonight it's supposed to drop to the low-20s, which will burn some of those new buds.

It did this the previous two springs.

Most years it's really pleasant. I think it was nice last year, but it was a late summer and I think that made everyone wear jackets outside.

I don't think we were there when you had the fireplace going all weekend. At least I don't remember that, but in all honesty I can't say that I SHOULD remember everything about those weekends! :cross:

It's always a good time no matter what. Even if we have to dodge rain drops and skeeters.

Remember that time it was so warm you took us all out for a dip in the pontoon? That was refreshing!

:D

Ugh. Couple hours ago it was blowing snow HARD.

At lunch I went home to "say goodbye" to my wife, who's going to NY for a few days, and it was clear and sunny and actually kind of warmish.

By the time I got home and ate a piece of cheesecake (5 minute drive) it was blowing sleet.

I think one more day of this crap and it's going to warm up again.

Take the cold back! It reached 80 here on Monday and maybe Tuesday. It is now 45. Can we please save some of this cooler air for when its in the mid to upper 90s and 90% humidity later this summer?

We had snow flurries yesterday. Today, the temp is currently 25°F. Burrrrr.

25 degrees tonite.Wtf ! Gonna have to turn off the outside hose and drain it and plug in the chickens electric water bowl.Dammit.

My yard is full of a thousand flowers in bloom. Blue ones, purple ones, white ones, and even yellow ones.

The wind storm that lasted for 27 hours was blowing a sustained 17 meters per second with gusts up to 40 m/s. If that doesn't mean anything to you, then I will tell you that it was strong enough to make empty flagpoles lean 15 degrees to the east. Live branches about 3 meters long left from my pine trees.

That's the storm that finally blew the cold weather out. Spring is officially here now!

Used the conversion calculator to translate to farm boy language. That is strong wind to sustain for that long. Hope you had no major damage.

We live pretty near to the airport, so I always see the planes coming in pretty slowly. During the storm, though, they were coming in fast for the landing and then slamming the brakes on when they hit the runway. They use this same technique pretty regularly in Athens, Greece due to strong winds that almost never stop there.

Yep, this storm was between 8 and 9 on the Beaufort scale. And the sun was shining the whole time. Awesomely violent nature!

Yeah, my brother-in-law said it was bad.

We had no storm, but every type of precipitation possible within a day.

The weather report is insane, predictions range from -4 to +17 celcius next week.

Woo flipping Hoo it snowed here this morning. We did not get much however it makes my eye tick a little.

I was outside off and on yesterday with a t-shirt. Then about 2 in the afternoon, we had a brief bout of hail. WTF? I got my sausage delivery at 6 and started grilling, then the wind started blowing again like a bastard for an hour. The grill was struggling the entire time. Soon as I finished grilling, the wind died for the rest of the evening.

I had 11 above 0 this morning, but it was warmer after a few hours. We had no snow, though! That is the first sign that spring might come.

There are no buds or flowers or anything like that, but of course it's way too early anyway. I'm just so eager for spring to come.

Not to rub salt in the wound.....but it has been gorgeous here.
