Sink Faucet

Hi All!

I want to get an pull down faucet such as this one:

My only problem is that its made from brass and it might contain lead. How can i make sure its lead free? Or stainless Steel? I’ve also seen “low lead” models. Are those safe? Do you have any recommendations?

The federal safe drinking water law makes it illegal to introduce lead into potable water and as such brass used for this purpose cannot contain more than .2% lead by volume, or .25% by weight. Been this way for 5 or so years now.

Theoretically the faucet is compliant (who knows how tight quality control and testing is in other countries) if sold in the US.

I would have no worries about lead if it were me.

You have nothing to worry about. Even if it was non-compliant (even though that is not the case here), the amount that would leach out would be so low that it is hardly worth giving a thought to. Brew on!
