I'm aware of methods called Slanting and Washing for storing yeast for later use.
I simply poured the remains from my fermentation bucket into a pint mason jar and put in the fridge.
Is this an acceptable way to store my yeast for cider?
How long will it stay viable like this?
How many uses can I expect to get out of stored yeast?
What would be the next level of yeast storage?

For cider, I really cut all corners this year. I dumped yeast directly into the gallons of cider, and placed the lid (not quite sealed) back on the cider jug. When I moved it to the keg, I left the slurry in the bottom, and poured my next gallons of cider right on top of that. Did that for 3 rounds of cider, didn't notice any difference, except that each batch seemed to ferment faster than the previous batch.

Doesn't really answer your question other than, "yes this method can work".
