Hello,

I am looking to put in a small bar. Nothing too fancy. I have one of those dorm room small refrigerators sitting around, and I might convert it into a kegerator. This is not for homebrew. I would just get the kegs at the distributor. Would I still need a C02 tank? I am pretty sure the ones you get at the distributor already have the C02 in them. Is that correct? I basically want a way to hook up the keg in the refrigerator, then have a line going up to the bar where the tap would be. Anyone know of kits to do what I am looking to do? I would think this would be pretty basic.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for that!

I am hoping that I can at least fit a half keg in the mini fridge. Does the C02 tank have to be in the fridge as well? Its one of those brown mini fridges that many people seem to have. I cant think of the brand off the top of my head and Im not at home.

I'm not that familiar but I think you will be hard pressed to squeeze a 1/2 keg or even 1/4 barrel into a mini fridge. You'll have to take some measurements of a typical keg and match that to the fridge. Perhaps use the search function here to find others who have asked the same question...I'm certain someone has.

I've the typical Sanyo conversion (4.9 cu ft I think) and two cornys fit just right with no CO2 tank - no way a 1/2 or 1/4 barrel will fit, even with a shoe-horn and stick of dynamite.

CO2 can certainly sit outside...you'll just have to run the hose up and in by either drilling a hole, or finding the drain hole and using it, if it has one (I used the Sanyo's drain hole...no drilling).
