I bought a keggle from a guy last year absd he had the whole thing set up with a plastic sight=glass.

I have been brewing a lot the last few weeks to get enough beer to last until Spring,,, before it gets to cold to brew outside, and the other night I busted the sight-glass right off.

I need a recomendation of where I might find "Plexy" tubes like this to replace it.

I will need it in a few months when the weather warms up...

OP, have you used oxy to clean the keggle?

No, I usually just scrub it out with some water, a "Green-pad", then what ever left over StarSan I have , and put it away.

I figure that since it is going boil an hour or more each time I use it;;;; that it will get sanitized by the heat.

The real reason I do this is I connect up my pump and run it through the kettles faucet and throught the pump for a few minutes.

I take the OUT from the pump and connect to the top of the site glass and reciculate the solution this way, again running for a few minutes..

I also so this just before I brew...

So the faucet and site-glass get sanitized, (I am not sure they get hot enough to kill all the "little beasties".

I just saw a deal on the vendors forums- get agree sight glass with purchase or something. Worth taking a look.

You can also buy the raw tubing from McMaster-Carr and thread it yourself with a 1/4" NPT die. You have to buy 8' of it though--keep the rest for the time you break one.

http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/3566/=kc6dvc

It's 1/2" OD by 1/4" ID.

BTW: Its not that easy to cut straight threads on plastic so buy from Bobby M if you're not confidant in your skills.

Do you have the sight glass supported at the top? I just ask because I have banged mine around pretty good, I have one on HLT and one on BK, and haven't broken one yet. I have an eye bolt at the top to hold the sight glass in place.

The sight glass was a bit to long in my opinion...

It is higher that the top of the keg and when placing the keg upside-down it hits the ground.

I store the whole 3-Leveled System outside with the kegs upside-down on the rack.

My mistake was to grab the HWT and pull it off the top, the glass caught the frame and snapped off.

When replaced I am going to shorten the sightglass so the chance of this is reduced in the future. I mean it goes to 15 Gallons but I will never put that much liquid in the keggle so I do not need it all.
