Hello, new here. Hoping someone can direct me. What is the gauge on my brew kettle called, and where can I get a replacement? It's been YEARS since I last brewed, but want to get back into it. While moving things around the wife broke the plastic part clean off. So the fitting and temp gauge are fine, just need to replace the "glass".

Here's a pic of it before it was broke.

Well unfortunately mine is different (of course). My site glass has a female thread. All the ones on Brewhardware.com are male threads. I guess I need to change out my T fitting?

Looks like a 1/2" compression fitting, and the tube broke off at the ferrule.
You should be able to obtain a 1/2" OD sight glass tube of either glass or acrylic and a new ferrule, with some looking around.
Maybe even ask @Bobby_M of brewhardware.com if he has what you need...

Cheers!

Kind of hard to see, but Isn't that just a 1/2" compression fitting threaded into a 1/2" tee fitting? If you want to get going without, just remove that an install a 1/2" NPT plug while waiting for parts from @Bobby_M

Personally I've gotten tired of my sight-glass. I measure going in and the boil-off is always predictable and cleaning a sight glass that I don't actually need to look at anymore seems futile so I'm not including one on my next rig. Think about wether you really need it or not and consider replacing it with just a coupler for the thermometer.
