We went to the Brewery and took a tour yesterday. They said that Monday SIerra Nevada will be available in a can. It will be available locally at first and then spread out to other distributors.

They aren't selling it in the can yet. They are going to start off with just a couple beers. They will offer more later on. They had to build a whole new facility to can.

:off::off: Hey Dan.. were you back down at RR for more Younger on Friday? I saw a guy with that same shirt while I was in line.. thank goodness it was a short line.

Sorry just seems so right

No. We were down there last Saturday, Feb 4th. Got in line at 8AM and were #8 in line! We got right in. I wish we could make it back before they run out.

I wonder if this may bring the price down, that would be greater.Although i think their sixers are decently priced for good beer anyway.

I believe it will bring down the price, as it is cheaper to buy aluminum, do the canning, and to ship cans. They weigh less.

The shipping weight is the big cost savings. Cans cost roughly the same as bottles, surprisingly; mainly because the can liners are expensive (Source: owner of Milwaukee's largest craft brewery).

But more cost effective for us; it takes less energy to chill a beer in a can. And greener; aluminum is something like 90% more efficient to recycle.

Saw this at their booth on Friday night @ the opening event for SF Beer Week.

Hey! Do you work at Elevation 66? If so, El Cerrito should thank you for finally giving the world a reason to visit there (though Olde Time hardware can be a savior). And you should tell the guys in the kitchen to stop putting so much salt on everything! If not, you should go there and try their beer. Some of it is awesome!

I do work at Elevation 66, just an apprentice so I mostly do cellar work. Get to brew as well, though that is usually just the head brewer. I've helped come up with the recipe for a couple of the one-off's we've done as well.

There are one or two guys who I think over salt, 2/3 of the time I eat there it's salted perfectly, other 1/3 it's too salty. I really like the food though.

I like the menu a lot. Someone in that kitchen has great creative sense, for sure. And like I said, the beer there gave me reason to visit El Cerrito after dark, something I never thought possible. You should be proud--and I'm sure you are--of what's happening there. I wish you guys all the luck in the world and, as a repeat customer, I don't mind saying that I think the future is very, very bright!

Thanks! I am very proud to be part of it!
