I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to add shrimp to the boil? I know that a lot of people make oyster stout and thought shrimp may work. Any thoughts?

I probably wouldn't use actual shrimp but if you did this Id say use shells. Most oyster stouts don't actually put oysters in the brew.

Right. Many of them use the shells although some use the brine and even a few oysters.

This sounds gross to me, although I love shrimp and I love beer. I wouldn't ruin either by mixing them.

Go for it. You will never know until you try it. i make a Smokey Oyster Stout with a Quart of raw oysters with. brine in a 6 gallon batch. The only ones that don't like it are the ones that won't try it. My home brew club goes nuts over it. :ban:So just do it.:mug:
