I brewed a 10gal batch of English Ale 13 Nov. I had a 1.5L starter that my better half knocked off the counter the night before brew day (what a mess and we are still finding glass).

Brew day morning I went to my local home brew and cleaned them out of WLP002 English Ale Yeast (4 packs) and pitched once my brew was in the fermenter and aerated for 25mins.

OG was 1.057 and now it is stuck at 1.017 and hasn't dropped in 3 days.
I believe my cell count was a bit on the low side but thought it would finish ok. Beersmith said I need ~450Billion, buy my 4 packs yielded only ~390 at most.

Was thinking about rehydrating a pack of US05 and pitching it in to see if I can get it to drop a few more points.

Good idea or not??

I think it is a great idea.....and I doubt it will do anything. Your yeast has probably eaten all the fermentable sugars. If I read you post correctly this makes day 7. Let the yeast have time to clean up the intermediate products and settle out a bit. You'll likely gain a little more from that.

I've finished off a beer with US-05. I made a one-half liter wort of 1.040 OG for 5 gallons. Pitched the yeast into the wort and added to the fermentor when it was actively fermenting. Your volume may take one liter of wort. My beer dropped seven points in a week.

jesus. i only used two packets of 05 on my 1.076 beer lol. you did four??? I think you are fine.

No,.... I used 4 packs (35ml) of liquid English Ale yeast. Starter got dropped on the floor. Looking to finish with (1) pack of US05

you can pitch the us05 if you want, but I'd rouse it first. also you can warm it a bit

I would rouse the yeast and maybe warm the temperature a little and give it 3-4 more days. If there is no further drop in gravity I would guess it is done. You could try the US05 but it is likely that would not change anything.
