Should I be concerned with this?

I brewed a DIPA this past Saturday and used Wyeast 1056 yeast. I pitched the yeast when the wort was 67 degrees. I pitched it around 6:00 and it was already bubbling at midnight. I checked it before I left for work this morning and saw this from the blow off tube. The tube is sitting in a jug of Star San. The first picture was before I left and the second picture was after I came home. Does anyone know what this is? Is it something I should be concerned about? I haven't noticed any odd smells, but I'm still wondering about it.

Are you sure the milk jug you are using was totally clean? I assume it was. Either way I don't think you have anything to worry about. Whatever it is is not in your beer. I doubt it even came from your beer. The only think I have had come up a blow off was tan colored yeast. This is definitely a relax and have a home brew moment.

I see the white thing in the first picture in the bubbles. Could have been in your blow off tube container to begin with. Looks like curdled milk.

It was actually a water jug I had emptied during the brew day. I didn't clean it out first, but I figured it was okay since it was new from the store. Thanks for helping me relax a little. I guess I will just wait a few days and see what it looks like when I pull a hydrometer sample.

@scriv: looks like we need a controlled double blind experiment here. :D

Seriously, I'm trying to think what would be the chemical reaction with CO2 and Star San. rub it between your fingers...does it feel like soap? could be the surfactant in star san precipitating out?

Starts slick, like soap but finishes sticky, no odor. It follows the Star San bubble "column" up the tube, and lines the mouth of the growler.
