I scanned through the forums and didn't find anything that matched my specific question, so I'll post it.

I brewed, it fermented. Life was good.
Transferred to secondary, almost 4 weeks ago. Life is busy.
Getting ready to bottle, either tonight or this weekend. Should I add more yeast? I thought about drawing off a sample, placing it in a plastic bag with a bit of sugar to see if it puffs up. Would that be a sufficient test? or should I even bother? The yeast is White Labs East Coast Ale, in the AHS "Our Special Holiday Ale" kit.

Thanks.

My first brew had been inactive for about a day when I bottled it, and I was worried about it not having enough active yeast in there to carbonate it. Then about a day after bottling I could look at some of my bottles and see it bubbling slightly. So apparently, even if your activity has died down considerably, the yeast is still alive in there for carbonation.
