I just ordered a partial grain kit for the first time that comes with the Wyeast smack pack. The problem is I live in Hawaii and it usually gets to me in 3 weeks. I know that the yeast is affected by warm temps. Do you think it will still be ok?
 
That sounds like a bit of a stretch. Can you access the yeast locally? Most places give you an option to do so and then do not charge for the yeast.
 
I didn't realize at the time of my order that I could have opted to ship the yeast separately which would've got here within a week. I'll make sure to do that from now on, although it's an extra charge. My bad.
 
Yah you should be ok just make a starter. Next time have them include an ice pack which most places will do for an extra dollar or so. Its not a perfect solution but it will help
