Wasn't even looking for a stir plate, but saw this on amazon and was immediately reminded of one.

Think this could be used as a cheap stir plate alternative for yeast starters?

Homebrewers tend to be a thrifty type, so this discussion might exist elsewhere already. New to the forum (not the hobby)!

Interesting. I would wonder how long the motor that drives the stirrer could go without burning out. Also, at 350ml capacity, that's pretty small- only about 1/3 of a liter. I suppose it's OK if you're doing starters for 1G batches......
