No, I have not been born again. I am merely wondering if I should ferment my beers in the dark or not? Currently the carboys are up on the kitchen counter for everyone to gawk at. Should I wrap a blanket around them to prevent light from getting in? How sensitive is beer to light and is it sensitive to light differently during different stages?

Direct light is not good for your brew. If you want it accessible, then cover the carboy. I use old sweatshirts. They serve as insulators as well in the winter.

Once you get the carboy out of the light, maybe the good Brewpastor could help you with the other thing...:p
