Will adding more yeast and perhaps more sugar (suggestions on what to add, anyone?) after the primary fermentation increase alcohol content or just ruin my beer?

I would like to hear other stories if anyone has tried this and what the results were. Thanks.

I would plan for more alcohol in the beginning of the recipe before you started not later.
I guess if you FG was still high the yeast may chew some of the sugars.

How bout you leave THIS batch alone?....and come up with a recipe that has what you want for next time...

If you've pitched your yeast walk away from it...It will still be beer...

Enjoy it and make a new batch that is as strong as you want...

Your best bet is to find a recipe with a higher gravity. You can raise the alcohol of any beer by increasing the fermentables but you might end up with an unbalanced beer. What is it you are trying to accomplish? Do you have a recipe you would like to tweak?

BTW, more yeast won't give you more alcohol.

thank you, that is the answer i was looking for.

There is no recipe to tweak, I am just a new and curious homebrewer.

Revvy I read your blogs and appreciate the insight. Good call, I won't be adding more ingredients...like i said, just a curiosity i had.
