second fermentation

staten island ,new york
been brewing for 1 1/2 years now.just brewed a nice stout.never used a secondery before till now.left in primary for 6 days-airlock pretty dead
its been 2 days in the secondary and no action whats so ever in the airlock
whats up with that?

The term "secondary fermenation" is almost an oxymoron. 99% of the fermentation usually concludes in primary. The purpose of secondary isn't to allow fermentation to complete, so much as to allow the beer to clarify and get it off the trub, helping to prevent off-flavors.

So it's not surprising you've seen little to no action in secondary. You usually won't. However, you should see your been clarifying as additional sedimentation occurs.
