Well this latest (second ever) batch of mine will be interesting to see if it makes it all the way through. Just made a smashing pumpkin ale yesterday, and had it in the primary to start last night. Got a call today at work saying that it looks like the beer overflowed. Come to find out that it's the bubbles overflowing out of the airlock. Had to over the phone help teach the girlfriend how to sanitize the blowoff tube, and then how to use it. She just got done setting it up, so hopefully that should work now. She mentioned she took off the top for a little while because she was cleaning, and just got the blowoff installed. It probably was off (rought guess for 20-30 minutes.
So two questions, what do you guys use to clean this up, is it an easy clean?
And also, what's the likelihood of this being a botched batch? I'll still let it run its course, and hopefully no infections, but what's your guys guesses on that?
